To recognize the outstanding achievements and high potential of women who aspire to enter the field of accounting and finance, the Grand Rapids chapter of AFWA proudly hosts an annual scholarship competition. Scholarships are available to female students pursuing undergraduate degrees in accounting or finance who attend a local college or university.

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2023-2024 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

Olivia Ploucha will be a senior this fall at Grand Valley State Unversity. She is majoring in Accounting with a minor in International Business. Olivia is currently currently part of the Fredrick Meijer Honors College, and sits on the executive board of Women in Business at GVSU. She is a proud member of Beta Alpha Psi and enjoys learning about accounting through the organization. In the future, Olivia plans to be a CPA working in public accounting. This summer she has an internship with Deloitte that she is very much looking forward to.

 

Katelyn Brnjac is entering her last year at Grand Valley State University. This past April, she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting and Finance. She will be completing her Master’s of Science in Accounting within the next year. Katelyn has plans to pursue a career in public accounting and has started working towards her CPA designation. She will begin working at Plante Moran in their international tax division in August 2024.
