AFWA, and specifically our Chapter, gives such a great opportunity for women to come together, to network, to empower, to embrace each others' strengths in a safe, professional environment.
I instantly felt welcomed at my first AFWA event, and was grateful for all of the amazing women who were there to support and learn from one another. The organization provides great resources for women at every stage in their careers, and is so committed to its values of empowerment, leadership, integrity, and passion.
I get to meet amazing women leaders from various industries in different career stages and I love the fact that I can network with them at one spot and be supported by them.
Each member in AFWA comes from a different background in the accounting and finance profession, which allows me to gain a unique perspective on every topic. I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by women who are successful, driven, hardworking and an inspiration to me every day.
AFWA has helped me build and practice leadership skills early in my career, which is so valuable. It's also allowed me to build a large network of women that serve many purposes: friendship, professional council, inspiration, and opportunity, to name a few.
AFWA has given me an extended network of strong, smart, driven women who are looking to grow personally and professionally. Meeting these successful women from industries similar to mine has served as an inspiration to me and I am grateful that AFWA has given me the opportunity to work with and learn from them.
Being new to the AFWA organization and the Grand Rapids area, upon joining I was immediately inspired by the ambition and integrity displayed by the individuals involved in the AFWA organization.
It is great to be a part of an organization that is focused on connecting women who are motivated and inspired to sustain and grow their and other member’s careers as well as friendships. Sharing experiences, connecting with peers and mentors, listening and learning from one another is a powerful tool and I am humbled to be a part of this amazing organization.
AFWA has provided me great opportunities for networking with other female professionals in the field. The events, and being on the board, have helped me grow personally and professionally. I also love the scholarship program, and that it is aiding women continue in their studies. I am very proud to be part of this group and believe in and have noticed throughout the events, its mission of empowering women.
The energy behind AFWA's local leadership drew me to the organization. AFWA's mission is centered around helping women reach their potential in the fields of finance and accounting. Locally, AFWA does this by encouraging relationships through networking and cultivating opportunities for personal & professional development through programming. Relationships and continuous learning have been huge building blocks in moving toward my own professional aspirations, and I love that AFWA gives me a way to help others strive toward their goals, too.
